Stay chill. Your deliverability score answers one question: is your mail getting through? Here's what it measures, and when it appears.

The score is out of a hundred, and it's made of four things you can see. Delivered is worth the most: forty points, with full marks at ninety-nine percent or better. Bounces are worth twenty-five: full marks at one percent or less. Unsubscribes are worth fifteen. And twenty go to your sending domains, for the share whose records are verified.

The score then gets a name. Ninety or more: excellent. Seventy-five or more: good. Sixty or more: needs attention. Below that: at risk. And until a hundred emails have been sent, there's no score at all, because it's too early to tell.

On the Deliverability page, the score shows each of its parts, so you can see what's holding it back. Each campaign's bounces and unsubscribes are charted against the limits mailbox providers watch. And any campaign past a limit is listed, with the reason.

Sent isn't the same as delivered. The score tells you how much of your mail is really getting through, and what to fix first. It's worked out over your last ninety days, or, if nothing went out in that time, over everything sent so far.

That's your deliverability score: four things you can see, in one number. Next up: see how one inbox holds every reply. Don't freeze up!
